5 Elements of Wellness

Easier said than done right?
For the most part, I think we have some idea in the back of our minds what contributes to our health and wellness, but it's another thing to be able to make changes and consistently stick to doing those things that are good for us.
Any number of things can get us "off track," whether it be not having the time, the resources, or the knowledge. It doesn't help that research is constantly evolving. For example, salt used to be considered the root of all evil, but now it's touted as an essential nutrient for hydration (hot tip: for extra electrolytes, sprinkle some Redmond's Real Sea Salt in your water!). It's certainly a lot to take in.
When I first stumbled upon Instagram accounts dedicated to hormones, birth control, and fertility, the information they shared really resonated with me. The issues I'd been experiencing (painful periods, migraines, stomach issues, etc.) seemed to all be connected and could be healed through diet and lifestyle. After being on birth control for 10+ years and experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, I wanted to give myself the best possible chance at having a baby, but also wanted to get rid of my painful periods.

I’ve spent the last year heavily researching and testing out clean beauty, nutrition, exercise, and self-care tips to balance my hormones and improve my overall health. My overall goal being to reduce the amount of toxins I'm exposed to. The amount of information readily available in these areas is abundant. But how do you narrow it down and find what works for you? And where do you even start?
My hope is that we can create a community of women helping each other, sharing what we've tried, what's worked, and what hasn't.
When I started making changes, I, not surprisingly, had a difficult time. Books I read and articles I came upon advised completely overhauling my beauty and household products, cutting out major food groups, and getting my a$$ off the couch and start moving. And while it's encouraged to take it step-by-step, it's certainly terrifying when you're learning about the toxins we're exposed to in everyday products and how they impact our health. Of course we want to toss it all out immediately.
Who can possibly do all that at once? And make it last? There's the catch - even if you make all these changes overnight, how do you maintain them?
I certainly don't claim to have all the answers, but I have found some awesome resources that have made this journey immensely easier. I look forward to sharing what I've found and learning from you!
Please DM me on Instagram if you have any questions or want to connect! I'd love to hear from you :)
